This was a 24-hour marathon to create projects for six local non-for-profit organizations. The details of these projects are below. The project was featured on our local TV news outlets.

    Students were required to involve at least two other students from any major.

CLIENT BRIEFS

Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation
Project Information:
We need new brochures (probably tri-fold) that we can hand out to visitors and give to related institutions. These will provide a general summary of who we are, what we do, contact info, etc.
Things we would like to see in the brochure:
•    Full color
•    Mission Statement
•    Contact information
•    Descriptions of each room in the house (Underground Railroad, Haudenosaunee, Oz Parlor, Women’s Rights, Religious Freedom).
•    Description of Gage
Objective:
To raise awareness about the Gage Foundation and the work that we do. To place us alongside organizations like the Seward House, Susan B. Anthony House, etc.
Target audience:
Tourists, history buffs, women of all ages.
Many our guests are middle-aged to elderly women, sometimes with husbands in tow. We would like to continue appealing to that group while expanding to everyone interested in historic tourism including Millennials and families with children (we host programs for children periodically, and the house is very interactive).

Syracuse Shakespeare Festival
The overall marketing goal our materials need to support is to give the individual details of each
show series and program that we have.
Project description:
We have many production series and programs we run that are not easily explained and detailed
in a general brochure. We have found it very helpful in the past to develop and produce
brochures that highlight and detail the specifics of each production/program. Most CNY people
who know our organization think we only produce the Shakespeare-In-The-Park series in
Thornden Park’s Amphitheatre in August every year. We want to update our last set of
individual show/program brochures that were produced more than 5 years ago to highlight all our
current shows/programs as follows:
Series Productions:
•    Happy-New-Year-Fundraiser (HNYF); first or second week in Jan @ the Cantor Warehouse
•    Shakespeare-Under-A-Roof (SUAR); two shows, one in Feb @ Empire Theatre, one in Apr at the Cantor Warehouse
•    Shakespeare-On-The-Grass (SOTG); last two weekends in Jun on the grass at Thornden
•    Shakespeare-In-The-Park (SITP); last two weekends in Aug before the NYS Fair on the main stage in Thornden Park’s Amphitheatre
Programs:
•    No Bully Shakespeare (NBS); new program, recently funded by CNYCF to produce a 3 visit program for elementary and middle schools teaching no bully skills and violence prevention; runs from Sept through Jun; first and last sessions are classroom based teaching a specific no bully curriculum and alternative behaviors to violence; second session is a school-wide Shakespearean scenes show focusing on bullying roles and behaviors in Shakespeare; this program is a continuation of an eight year program of bringing abridged Shakespeare shows into area schools; (ART) Avon Repertory Theatre shows have been seen by more than 10,000 people in 35 schools throughout the CNY area.
•    Kids Doing Shakespeare (KIDS); one week theatre class intensive held the first week after July 4th weekend in Thornden Park’s Carriage House; designed for students in grades 5 through 12 with an average attendance between 12-24 students; class runs daily 10 am to 3 pm, Mon through Friday; students do a scene from the upcoming SITP show and have hands on experiences in costuming, set design, Renaissance music and dance as well as analyzing and producing a short play as a culminating activity.
•    Performing Arts Academy (PAA); new program designed to bring theatre arts instruction to students, K-12, in groupings based on grade, as an afterschool activity in music, dance and theatre; another component is providing this same type of instruction as childcare for the children of ticketholders who attend any of our indoor shows beginning in February 2015.

The objective of each series and program is to bring as many audience members and/or
participants as possible into each production or program.
Our target audience tends to be people who are 50+ and well educated and people who are under
30 and are looking for quality entertainment and instruction for themselves and their children.

HELPING HOUNDS DOG RESCUE
Marketing Goal: To make it easier to hand out a single item that will inform people about our mission, our needs and how they can support us.
Project Description: We are looking for a brochure that will communicate our mission, highlight how people can get involved (adoption, donations or volunteer) and include an easy tear-away section that people could use to mail in a donation.  Most of this information is easily accessed on our website.
Objective of Project: Awareness, fundraising and volunteer program basics are all parts we would like included in this one brochure.
Target Audience: General public, those who are dog lovers and would have an interest in adopting or supporting us financially or through volunteerism.

ArtRage Galler
The design projects are:
•    a brochure for social justice attractions/sites in the Syracuse Area
•    We have an intern who is currently coming up with the text for this
•    Graphics/images that we can use on our website to replace the ones we currently have and use for future emails/promo

Clear Path for Vets
Clear Path for Veterans is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization founded in 2011. We serve the Veteran & family populations in New York through our facility in Chittenango, NY
•    postcard thank you card from Clear Path for Veterans. We would not like this to take the place of our formal thank you notes , but to just jot a quick thank you to someone or for people stopping in to CP.
